“I met and hired Gloria as my nighttime doula after my daughter was born by a planned C-section in January 2014. As a single, first-time mother in my forties, I needed to find a doula to not only help me recover physically, but also teach me how to care for a newborn.  I initially hired Gloria for two weeks, but kept her on for another two and a half months because her help was invaluable.  Gloria taught me everything from swaddling to diaper changing to breast-feeding.

 

Being a first time mother was scary and overwhelming but having Gloria at home with me was a great comfort!  Not only was she was completely reliable and non-judgmental, but she made herself available for questions by phone or text when she was not physically with me – I always felt Gloria was entirely accessible.   

 

Gloria is a walking encyclopedia of all things baby related – each and every time I asked her a question or asked for her advice, I received a solid, well-informed answer.  Gloria made breakfast for me in the mornings and recommended good food choices for a breastfeeding new mother. I was able to get a great night sleep every night – Gloria brought my daughter to me when she needed to nurse and then Gloria took my daughter back to her room to burp her, change her diaper, swaddle her and cuddle with her. I felt completely comfortable having Gloria share a room with my daughter - Gloria treated my daughter as if she were her own and provided her with comfort, care, kindness and love.

 

Gloria made the transition to first time mother an easier, more informed and less scary event for me. I highly recommend Gloria for anyone who needs a loving, well-informed, experienced doula. Gloria is kind and patient and has a special gift for nurturing babies (and parents!). I continue to stay in touch with Gloria and will do so forever.  Gloria has become a friend and part of my family.“

Gloria first came to my home when I was pregnant and advised me on what I would need for our nursery and what to pack for the hospital. Her suggestions were streamlined and easy to follow. In fact, she just sleep trained our baby who is sleeping beautifully through the night.

She helped my wife during the day to get over the new born baby hump. Then when it was time to sleep train him she helped us put together a plan that was easy to follow and worked flawlessly. Our son now puts himself to sleep without any rocking and is sleeping through the night.
